Along with the Gold Rush, the Transcontinental Railroad put Sacramento on the map. The Museum pays tribute with engaging exhibits for the whole family including 19 historic steam locomotives. After exploring the exhibits, hop on the Museum’s excursion railroad for a 50 minute ride along the Sacramento River pulled by a vintage locomotive. Enjoy the open air, or ride in luxury in one of the museum’s beautifully restored First Class lounge or dining cars.
