James H. Dewar and his brother George opened The Chocolate Shop in Bakersfield in 1909. Now, in its 5th generation of family ownership, there’s three locations selling chocolates, candy and ice cream. Dewar’s famous Taffy Chews come in a variety of flavors including almond, caramel, chocolate almond, peanut butter, peppermint, pistachio and tiger chew.
