Watch as artists brink asphalt chalk drawings to life during the Via Arté Italian Street Painting Festival each October. The event is modeled after the Italian tradition of I Madonnari and put on by the Bakersfield Museum of Art. Enjoy live music and watch as hundreds of professionals and students turn the Marketplace parking lot into a gallery of chalk masterpieces. Children can create their own art in the Via Bambino Art Area.
